Thread rolling is a cold buckling: in this case and in all cases of permanent buckling,
materials are stressed beyond elasticity limits, then they become plastic and keep
the desired shape. From a technical point of view rolled threads show a high profile precision,
in fact roughness on the sides is below 5 mikron.
Through a pression polishing process resistance to corrosion has remarkably increased.
The resistance of the starting material improves in the buckled areas due to rolling and
the increase of resistance due to pression polishing is around 6/12% in comparison with
threads obtained with the traditional shaving removal.
At the foot of the thread a pression pre-loading system is obtained, thus increasing
resistance to alternate stress and the product durability overtime.
Moreover the pattern of metallic fibres, with no cuts or interrumption, that simply follow
the thread profile is a guarantee of safety against cracking. Apart from triangular threading,
rolling allows for trapezoidal threading, rounded and special threads.
